The trend to “unbundling” of products and services is dramatic. Both consumers and businesses are demanding to buy only what they want, when they want it.
Evidence? Take Netflix. On weeknights, Netflix accounts for almost half of all internet traffic. With 40MM+ subscribers, Netflix customers watch about 4 billion hours of programs every quarter on more than 1,000 different types of devices – all delivered by Amazon web services. That’s 36 hours per paying subscriber per month.
